Race for Life

As 2012 draws to a close, Race for Life organisers in Essex are thanking everyone involved in the year's events in the county.

Starting on 13th May in sunny Southend-on-Sea, and finishing, a little later than anticipated, on 30th September at beautiful Castle Park in Colchester, 23,094 women and girls have walked, jogged or run 5K and 10K at Race for Life events across Essex, raising a fantastic £1,518,685!

This money will fund vital research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all 200 types of cancer, saving lives, making treatments kinder and keeping families together for longer.  Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.  Rather than focusing on one type of cancer, we fund research into a wide range of cancers.  From the most common – such as breast, bowel, lung and prostate cancers – to rare types of tumour, we support groundbreaking science that brings benefits to all people with cancer.

Race for Life will be returning to Essex in 2013. We'll be announcing dates and venues soon - so keep checking back here for more details.
