Two Men Arrested Over Office Fire
Two men have been arrested after 100 firefighters were needed to tackle a fire at a disused shop and office block in Westcliff-On Sea.
An investigation into the cause is underway after crews were called to the four storey building on Hamlet Court Road just after 9.20pm (Sunday 8th May).
The ground and first floors were completely smoke logged, and flames could be seen for miles.11 people have also had to be rehoused because of it.
A 32-year-old man from Westcliff and a 40-year-old man from Woodford, east London, have been arrested on suspicion of arson and are currently being questioned at Rayleigh police station.
