Armed, Masked Men Rob Shop In Heybridge

Two men, dressed in ski masks and balaclavas and armed with knives have robbed a Co-Op store in Heybridge.

It happened on Lawling Avenue last night.

Essex Police said: "At around 9.25pm on October 19 two men dressed in ski masks or balaclavas and armed with knives, threatened a teenage shopper inside the shop and demanded money from the staff member.

"The victim, a 16-year-old local boy, received minor injuries. The pair made off with a four-figure sum of money in a plastic tub.

"One of the suspects is described as white, 6ft tall, blue eyes, of athletic build, aged in his early 20s, wearing a grey hooded top, black balaclava, dark jogging bottoms and black trainers.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Chelmsford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
