Two men, armed with a hammer, have robbed a post office in Purfleet.

The pair went into Garrison Parade just before midday on Tuesday (September 30) demanding money.

A moped and a hammer have been recovered however the suspects have not been located yet.

They arrived at the shop on a moped and went in still wearing their helmets; one was black and the other silver.

One of the men is believed to be black and the other white.

Money was stolen during the robbery and the post master received minor injuries.
