Essex's top fire firefighter says fixing the culture at the fire service will not be a quick fix.
Basildon: Police Search For Missing Man
Police in Basildon are searching for a man who has been missing for a week.
47 year-old Micheal Redmond, who lives on The Vale, was last seen in the bar area at the Kingswood Fitness Centre in the town at around 7.20pm last Friday (5 July, 2013).
He has been seen since and has not used his mobile phone or bank account.
Mr Redmond is described as white, 6ft tall, bald and has blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a pink polo top and sky blue shorts.
He has a tattoo of the devil on his left arm and Danielle inscribed on his right arm.
Chief Inspector Glen Pavelin said: "We are concerned about Mr Redmond. He has not been seen for nearly a week which is completely out of character.
"His family are worried about him. He is a regular user of the Kingswood gym in Basildon and has not been there since last Friday.
"Anybody with any information is asked to contact Essex Police on 101 as soon as possible."
An 82 year-old man who suffered serious injuries after a colliding with a bus in Tilbury last month has died in hospital.
