Boy Injured By Air Weapon

A teenager has been injured by an air weapon in Thurrock.

The 13 year old was left with a pellet in his arm after the incident and will need surgery.

It happened at fishing lakes near Devonshire Road in Chafford Hundred at around 6:15pm yesterday evening.

A 24-year-old man from Stanford-le-Hope and a 24-year-old man, who did not give an address, were arrested on suspicion of assault and are helping officers with their enquiries.

Dc Adam Stallard, of Grays CID, said: "The area is a popular fishing spot and young people do like to hang around there. We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has any further information.”
