Canvey Island: Woman Dies After Hit By Car

An elderly woman has died after she was hit by a car on Canvey Island.

The pedestrian was struck by a blue Ford Focus at the junction of Mitchells Avenue and Gains Close shortly after 10am yesterday (Saturday 15 February).

She was taken to Basildon University Hospital by paramedics after sustaining a head injury and died there a few hours later.

The female car driver was uninjured.
