Police investigating an assault in Braintree that left a man needing 30 stitches to his face have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to over it.

A 22 year-old man was hit in the face with a glass at The Bull pub just before 12.10am on Sunday, 7 September and was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

Essex Police say their initial inquiries suggest the attack happened after a disagreement with anpther man inside.

The suspect then left in the company of a woman.

The man is described as white, of slim build, 5ft 10in tall, with light brown short swept over hair. He was wearing a bright red bomber-style jacket.

The woman he was with is described as being of mixed race, slim build, in her 20s and 5ft 2in tall. She had collar length straight brown hair.
