Chelmsford: Bus Passenger Dies After Crash

A 90 year-old man has died after being seriously injured during a collision between a bus and cyclist in Chelmsford.

The pensioner was a passenger on the bus and suffered serious head injuries in the collision on North Avenue at around 10.45am on Saturday, August 3. 

He was flown to the Queens Hospital in Romford but died there on Friday. 

An 18 year-old man from Chelmsford has been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous cycling. 

He has been bailed until November 8 pending further enquiries. 

Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses and want to hear from anyone who was at North Avenue near the junction with Tennyson Road at the time of the incident.
