Chelmsford: Driver Hurt In A12 Crash

A man has been taken to hospital after the lorry he was driving collided with a car causing it to overturn and shed bricks and debris onto the carriageway.

It happened northbound between junction 16 for Galleywood and junction 17 for the Great Baddow Bypass at around 6:30am (Wednesday January 23rd).

The road has been closed causing long delays for those getting to work this morning. There is also delays on surrounding routes.

East of England Ambulance Service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "On our arrival, the lorry driver was found trapped in the cab by his legs and the steering wheel. Paramedics and HART operatives worked extremely hard to treat, stabilise and immobilise him before he was taken to Basildon Hospital for further care, he received minor injuries."
