Chelmsford: Man Dies In Head-On Collision

A man has died, and a family have been left with serious injuries, following a crash in Chelmsford.

Emergency services were called to Essex Regiment Way, between Wheelers Hill and the Braintree Road, at about 3pm yesterday (Sunday 13 April).

The collision involved a Chevrolet Corvette and a Vauxhall Astra. The Corvette caught alight and the driver was trapped inside. The driver died and is believed to be a man in his 60s from Chelmsford.

A family from Dunmow were in the Astra and were taken by ambulance to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

The man and woman in their 30s, and their two daughters who are believed to be three and 18-months, suffered serious injuries.
