An inquest has recorded an open verdict into the death of a young father who was stabbed in Clacton in December 2011.

21 year old Liam Mears died after he was stabbed in a garden on a house on Wellesley Road during an argument over a friend's bike.

Today (Wednesday 3 July) a coroner at Chelmsford Crown Court said we may never know exactly what happened that night and has recorded an open verdict into his death due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

Essex Police have arrested 12 people as part of their investigation but no one has been charged.
