Couple Forced To Give Up Dream Home

An Essex couple who spent 18 months and almost a million pounds building their dream home have been forced to give it up.

Colin and Vanessa Bayliss built their home in Leigh-on-Sea to their exact specifications but have put it up for auction as they cannot get the financial backing to carry on living there.

It boasts a huge cinema, snooker room and a gym.

Mr Bayliss said: "We would absolutely love to carry on living there. It is our dream home in every single sense but we simply cannot afford to stay there. We have tried every which way with the banks to get a mortgage but we've been refused at every turn, so we've absolutely no choice but to sell."
