Dale Farm: A Year On Oak Lane
Heart has been looking at how last year's eviction of Dale Farm has affected the travellers, the community and the council.
Around 400 people - who owned land on the Crays Hill site but didn't have planning permission - were moved off by police and bailiffs.
It was a battle that had been raging for 10 years between the traveller community living on Dale Farm and Basildon Council.
The final clearance cost more than £7 million but it was a violent event with clashes between protestors and the police, and several people were arrested.
It was promised the land the travellers were living on would be transformed back into green belt land, but has that happened and what has become of the travellers and the community they left behind?
Heart's Ashleigh Carroll has this special report:
Travellers Depart From Dale Farm
