Thursday has been a case of "another day - further delays" for thousands of rail travellers in Essex.
Amid freezing temperatures, the latest in a series of incidents meant long hold-ups for commuters who face inflation-busting fare rises in less than four weeks.
Those travelling in to London from Essex were particularly badly hit, with a broken-down train at Colchester and a signal problem near Gidea Park leading to delays.
Since the beginning of November, few rush-hour mornings have been free of hold-ups, with yesterday's snow and last week's floods adding to travellers' woes.
On January 2, regulated fares, which include season tickets, will be rising by an average of 4.2%.
