Halstead - Toddler Victim Named As Dexter Neal

Essex Police investigating the death of a 3 year-old boy after being attacked by a dog, say he was Dexter Neal from Ronald Road in Halstead.

Dexter (pictured), sustained injuries after being bitten by a dog in a property at around 5.40pm yesterday (Thurs 18th Aug)

The 3 year-old was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital, where he later died of his injuries, later that evening.

A 29 year-old woman from Halstead has been arrested for allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control injuring a person. She remains in police custody.

The dog has been seized by police and placed in kennels. The breed of the dog has been identified as an American Bulldog.
