Help for NEETS across Essex

As tens of thousands of teenagers in Essex prepare for their exams this summer, the attention's turning to young people who're not in education, work or training.

Neets (Not in education, employment or training) make up one in seven 16 to 18 year olds in the county.

Chelmsford Training Services is hoping to bring that figure down, thanks to a 10-week course they're running next month, aiming to increase confidence and motivation in looking and applying for a job.

It'll provide them with a qualification and could lead to an apprenticeship. Also, whilst on the 10 week course they could be eligible to EMA and even their travel expenses may be re-reimbursed.

In Chelmsford town centre on Thursday and Friday this week, a big inflatable white dome is set up where young people can find out more and sign up to the course.
