Leigh: Biker Dies After Hitting Pheasant

A motorcyclist from Leigh-on-Sea has died after his bike struck a pheasant in Northamptonshire.

The 54-year-old was travelling along the A6116 from Corby towards Thrapston on Saturday afternoon (12 October) when he hit the bird.

It caused him to swerve into a lay-by and hit a kerb.

He was airlifted to University Hospital in Coventry with serious injuries.
