Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Chelmsford

A 41 year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was stabbed in Chelmsford.

The victim, who is in his 50s, presented himself to an ambulance station on Coval Lane at around 10.15p on Wednesday (13 January) with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he his condition was described as "life-threatening".

Neville Payne, from Crown Road in Billericay, was arrested on Hardy Close later that night.

He has now been charged with attempted murder and is due in court today (Friday, 15 January).
