Man Needs Surgery After Harlow Stabbing
A man has been left needing surgery after he was stabbed outside a bar in Harlow.
The man, who is in his 20s, was stabbed four times in his back and chest following an argument outside Bar 21 on Market Square at around 2.30am on Sunday.
Essex Police said: "The victim, who is in his 20s and from Harlow, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he is still receiving treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening but will require surgery.
"A large area in Market Square was taped off while police carried out forensic investigations.
"A 19-year-old man from Harlow was arrested this morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and he remains in custody being interviewed by detectives.
"Any witnesses who have not yet contacted police or anyone with information about events leading to the stabbing, should call the investigating officer DC Laura Cuthbert or colleagues at Harlow CID on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
A domestic abuse hub has been officially opened in a bid to provide more support to victims across South Essex.
Around 100 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a packaging warehouse.
Michael Barrymore is entitled to "more than nominal" damages against Essex Police over his wrongful arrest.
