Moped Rider Dies In Chelmsford Crash
A man has died following a crash involving the moped he was riding and a car in Chelmsford.
It happened on the Hatfield Peverel-bound side of the A138 between the Toby Carvery roundabout and the Boreham interchange at around 10.45pm yesterday (Thursday, 16 June).
Essex Police said: "The moped rider, a 64-year-old man from Ingatestone, died.
"The Vauxhall driver and three other people in the car were not injured.
"The driver, an 18-year-old man from Chelmsford, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in custody for questioning.
"The road was closed for several hours while forensic collision investigation work was carried out.
"Witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org".
