Olympic Test Event Tickets On Sale

Tickets for Olympic test events, including the mountain biking in Hadleigh, are now on sale.

It's part of a number taking place this summer ahead of the London 2012 Games and will test things like the timing systems.

The London 2012 Organising Committee has invited some of the best riders from around the world, with up to 130 athletes from around 30 top-ranking nations expected to attend.

Essex Councillor Stephen Castle said: “I’m really excited at the prospect of seeing the Hadleigh Farm Mountain Bike International. The test event will be the first chance for spectators to see elite athletes racing at the Hadleigh Mountain Bike Course. I urge local residents in Essex to take the opportunity to come and see the competition and purchase their tickets today”.

Athletes will race around the 5.1km course for multiple laps, with the winners sharing a prize fund of around £5,000.

Tickets cost £20, £10 for children aged 16 and under and adults aged 60 and over. Spectators of all ages will need to buy a ticket, and children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
