One Dead In Sible Hedingham Motorbike Crash

One man has died and another has suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash involving four motorbikes in Sible Hedingham.

It happened on Wethersfield Road just after 2pm yesterday (Sunday, 5 June).

Essex Police said: "One of the riders, who is believed to be 22 and from Newcastle, sadly died at the scene.

"Another motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man from Laindon, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital for treatment.

"His condition is described as life-threatening.

"A 62-year-old man from Basildon was taken to Colchester hospital for treatment to minor injuries but has since been discharged.

"The road was closed until 8.30pm whilst emergency services dealt with the incident and officers conducted their investigations.

"Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses to the collision who have yet to come forward are asked to contact Pc Darrin Lee at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk".
