Pedestrian Dies In Crash On A12 Near Chelmsford
One man has died in a "serious" crash on the A12 near Chelmsford.
Emergency services were called to Junction 17 (A130/Howe Green) at around 6.10am today (Wednesday, 10 February.
Essex Police said: "Police were contacted with reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and several HGVs.
"The pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 50s, has died at the scene.
"The southbound carriageway at junction 17 remains closed and is not expected to open until the afternoon.
"The northbound carriageway is unaffected but officers ask motorists not to rubberneck to allow a continuous flow of traffic".

A teacher, who worked in Chelmsford, has been charged with multiple offences relating to children.
