Pensioner Dies After Collision With Car In Basildon
A pensioner has died after being hit by a car in Basildon.
The collision happened on Southernhay, near the Gala bingo hall, just after 6pm yesterday (Tuesday, 5 July).
Essex Police said: "(The 84 year-old man) suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, where he sadly died.
"A section of the road was closed until about 10.15pm while emergency services were on the scene and forensic collision investigation work was carried out.
"Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org".
