Pensioner Injured After Hit By Car In Southend

An elderly woman has been injured after she was hit by a car that then just drove off in Southend.
Emergency services were called to Lonsdale Road at the junction with Central Avenue at around 1.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, 2 February).
Essex Police said: "The pedestrian, a local woman in her 80s, sustained back injuries as a result of the collision and is receiving hospital treatment.
"The driver of the Corsa is believed to be a man aged in his 50s, with a shaved head and of large build.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Tina Quinlivan at Laindon Roads Policing Unit on 101".
