A new clinic in an abandoned high street shop is to offer year-round access to GPs for nurses for the first time south west Essex.

Thurrock Medical Centre in Grays High Street is located in the old Woolworths store near the level crossing.

It will be open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will treat people whether they're registered with the practice or not.

The practice has 10 consulting rooms, 2 treatment rooms, a large multi-use area for meetings or group sessions, as well as two modern waiting rooms.

Reshad Ghooran, Practice Manager, told Heart: "We've already been approached by 10 or 15 people asking when we're going to open and just walking down the High Street you can hear people talking about the centre."

"We believe it's going to fantastic for the area, the demand is going to be immense, and I think there's going to be more and more of these clinics popping up across the country."

It's being officially opened today but you can take a look inside by checking out our photo gallery.
