Southend: Woman Punched And Robbed By Men

A woman has been punched in the face and robbed in Southend.

The 19-year-old victim was texting while walking along Stanley Road, near the junction with Queensway, at about 11.40pm on Thursday 13 June.

Two men then approached her and she was punched twice in the face, before the Blackberry Curve phone was snatched from her hands.

The victim, who is from the Stanford-le-Hope area, was left with bruising and swelling to her left cheek.

One of the attackers is described as black, 5ft 9ins tall, aged 20 to 23, and wearing jeans and a black jacket.

Investigating officer, Dc Gail Wilkinson, said: "I am trying to trace any witnesses as this would have been a Thursday night and is generally quite busy in that area of Southend."
