Stansted: Bomb Hoax At Airport

19 February 2012, 09:00

A man has been remanded in custody after a hoax bomb threat at Stansted Airport.

40 year old Paul Jackson, of Infirmary Street, Blackburn appeared before Blackburn Magistrates Court charged with communicating false information.

It's after Lancashire Police got a call on Friday morning warning that a van was on its way to the Essex Airport with explosives on board.

A spokesman for the airport said: 'Patrols were increased following information received by police from another force, this was precautionary and in line with established practice.

'The airport remained open and operated as normal.'

Jackson will appear in court again on Monday.
