Colchester: Man Arrested After A12 Crash

A man has been arrested following a crash on the A12 in north-east Essex.

The collision happened near Stanway when a BMW 318 and a VW Polo struck each other on the northbound carriageway of the A12 shortly after 11pm on Saturday, April 6th.

The Polo overturned, leaving a couple and their two children injured. The BMW driver ran away from the scene.

On Thursday, April 11, a 21-year-old man from the Colchester area was arrested at his home address on suspicion of committing motoring offences.

He was later released on police bail until Tuesday, June 11 pending further enquiries.

The occupants of the Polo, who are from Ipswich, were conveyed to Colchester General Hospital on the night and later discharged.
