The 16 year-old victims were walking along Alderton Hall Road, near to the railway bridge, at around 10.40pm on Friday when they were approached by the men.

They were then threatened and forced to hand over their belongings, which included an Armani bag, a wallet, and an iPhone.

The robbers then made off in a vehicle parked nearby.

Both suspects are described as white and aged between 18 and 20. One was wearing a distinctive blue hooded top with white stitching around the pockets. The other suspect was dressed in black. Both men had their faces hidden under their hoods.

Investigating officer Dc Stephen Baker said: "This incident understandably left these boys very distressed. I'm keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time. I'd also like to urge people to be vigilant, stick to main roads and avoid taking short cuts."
