Sible Hedingham shooting

Police are continuing to question a third man on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in his own home in Sible Hedingham.

The victim had hidden in a bedroom on Rectory Road after intruders broke into the property in the early hours of 6 February.

He was shot through his bedroom door and left with "life-changing" leg injuries.

Essex Police has said doctors face a battle to save his leg and he may have to have it amputated.

Two men - aged 23 and 27 - were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary on 17 February, and then released on bail until April.

A 22 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the same offences yesterday.
