Two Charged Over Waltham Abbey Baseball Bat Attack

Two men have been charged over an attack in Waltham Abbey that left another man with serious head injuries.

The victim was assaulted with a baseball bat at a bus stop on Paternoster Hill on Sunday afternoon.

Two men were arrested shortly after and have now been charged.

52 year-old Edward Chillingworth, from Winters Way in Waltham Abbey, has been charged with assault occasioning GBH.

31 year-old Ricky Smith, from Bradmley Shaw in Waltham Abbey, has been charged with assault occasioning GBH, possession of an offensive weapon and assault.

Both men are due before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court later today.
