Westcliff: Woman Rescued From Flat Fire

A woman has been rescued from a fire in Westcliff.

More than 30 firefighters were called to Hamlet Court Road just before 11pm yesterday (Sunday 30 June) to find the fire in flats above a hair salon.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used four hose reels and two main jets to tackle the fire.

A woman was rescued and placed in the care of the Ambulance Service.

The fire was extinguised at around 1:45am.

A joint fire and police investigation will now be carried out to find out how the fire started.
