Woman Charged With Nightclub Stiletto Attack

A restaurateur has appeared in court charged with attacking a woman with a stiletto shoe in an Essex nightclub.

Natalie Jeffery, 23, is accused of striking Sophie Roberts in the face at Unit 7 in Basildon.

Ms Roberts, in her 20s, suffered facial injuries in the incident at around 3am on September 18th 2016.

Jeffery, of Tantelen Road, Canvey Island, was formally charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) in a brief hearing at Basildon Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Wearing glasses, a white top and a long black cardigan, she spoke only to confirm her name, age and address. No pleas were taken.

She was bailed to appear at Basildon Crown Court on March 23 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
