Woman Dies In Essex Crash

One person's died and four others hurt in a crash on the A12 in Essex.

Emergency services were called shortly after 10 this morning to the northbound carriageway by Witham after a car and lorry collided.

Essex Police say a woman in her 30s, who was a rear seat passenger in the black Toyota Rav 4, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, including the driver of the car, have been taken by air ambulance to a London hospital with serious injuries.

A man and a woman, who were also in the vehicle, have been taken by land ambulance to Colchester hospital with less serious injuries.

Part of the road was closed for several hours.
