There are concerns for a woman who was seen being assaulted and bundled into a car in Waltham Abbey.

Witnesses say the woman had got out of the vehicle on Winters Way at around 10pm on Friday night while the driver was having an argument with a group of youths.

The driver then pushed her to the ground and forced her back into the car before driving off.

Police in the Epping Forest district say they searched for the car but, following extensive enquiries in the area, they have been unable to find the vehicle or the woman.

DI Mark Barber said: "I am appealing for the woman involved to contact us to confirm she is OK. This may have been a domestic dispute between the two but I want to hear from her."

The woman is described as white with blonde hair and a red top, the man was also white, in his 40s, bald and wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The car is described as small and silver.

Police are also appealing for the group of young men who witnessed this incident to get in contact.
