Nominate An Unsung Hero And Name New Buses

Here's your chance to nominate an unsung Essex hero and get one of a new fleet of buses named after them.

Martin and Su Bus

We've teamed up with Arriva to celebrate the arrival of 18 new buses to run on Service 1 between Shoeburyness, Thorpe Bay, Southchurch, Southend, Westcliff, Leigh, Hadleigh and Rayleigh.

We want you to nominate local people who have done good work for their community and deserve to have one of a new fleet of buses named after them. There's 17 buses waiting to be named (Martin and Su have bus 18!) - but hurry, as you need to nominate your unsung hero by midday on November 30th.

And just for nominating, you'll be added into a draw to win a pair of annual Arriva Southend Saver tickets (each worth £420) and £100 in Love2Shop vouchers.

Richard Lewis from Arriva said, “In every community there are all kinds of people doing good deeds for others who never shout about their work.

“We want some of these people – whether charity shop workers, scout leaders, inspirational teachers or someone who keeps an eye out for elderly neighbours – to get the recognition they merit.

“The winning names will be fitted alongside the entrance doors to the buses, visible to passengers as they get on board and a reminder of the good people who are at the heart of this community.”
