Martin and Su Hand Over Minis

Thanks to your generosity Heart Breakfast's Martin and Su have been able to hand over brand new Minis to Little Havens Children's Hospice in Thundersley and Haven House Children's Hospice in Woodford Green.

Money raised by our charity, Have a Heart, means we could fund a mini and nursing costs to help Essex hospices provide care and support seriously ill children in their own homes.

Martin and Su were joined by James 'Arg' Argent and Debbie from TV's The Only Way Is Essex as they handed over the keys to Judi Porter, Non-clinical Care Team Leader at Haven House in Woodford Green.

Martin and Su said: "The work that Haven House does across West Essex and North and East London is truly inspiring and we are delighted to support them.

"We’d like to thank all our Heart listeners for their amazing generosity with our Have a Heart Appeal. By enabling us to provide the Mini and nursing hours, their donations will make a real difference to improve the lives of seriously ill children and their families in our local area."

Judi Porter of Haven House Children’s Hospice said: “We are immensely grateful to Heart and all Heart listeners for this wonderful donation.

"The Mini will enable our Play Specialist and Toy Home Loan Coordinator to visit life-limited children in their homes in the local community.

"Both Coordinators are a vital part of our service, offering sensory, stimulating and therapeutic play tailored to children’s individual needs, not to mention lots of fun!”

Martin and Su then presented the second Have a Heart Mini in Essex to Ann and Val, two of the Care Team volunteers at Little Havens Children's Hospice in Thundersley.

Earlier this year our Have a Heart Appeal raised over £330,000 for Children’s Hospices UK. The 2011 Appeal included a star-studded fundraising day featuring the likes of JLS and Westlife, X-Factor winner Matt Cardle and Olly Murs.
