£1000 MINUTE ON HEART ESSEX
RULES

The following rules (“Rules”) together with Global Radio ("Global Radio") general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found here) apply to ‘£1000 Minute’ on  Heart radio competition ("the Competition") The "Participating Radio Station" is Heart Essex.

By entering this Competition, anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and to be bound by them.

1. Details of the Competition
1.1 Throughout the Duration of the Competition, listeners to the Participating Radio Station will be invited to enter the Competition for a chance to win.  

1.2 An Entrant can enter the Competition by calling 01245 52 52 52 when the presenter announces on air.

1.3 Every morning of the competition the breakfast presenter will select an entrant at random to play. They will be asked ten general knowledge and showbiz-related questions in 60 seconds and they will need to answer all ten correctly within the time to win the ‘grand prize’.    

1.4 The entrant can only answer the question once the presenter has finished asking the question and only the first answer given will be accepted. The entrant cannot 'pass' and the presenter cannot return to the question at the end of the round if there is time left within the timer.

1. 5 All matters relating to the selection at random of Entrants and all other matters relating to the Competition will be at the discretion of Global Radio and the Participating Radio Station.

1.6 An entrant may only participate in the competition once in each calendar month.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Any person using a telephone which is not his or her own should ask for the permission of the owner of the telephone before calling the Telephone Line.

2.2 Any employees of and/or contractors engaged by Global Radio, their immediate family or any other persons directly connected with the Competition are unable to enter into the competition.

2.3 The Competition is open to residents of the UK and Northern Ireland only aged 18 or over.

2.4 Notwithstanding that a winner has been declared, if Global Radio discovers before the delivery of a prize that for any reason under these Rules or Terms and Conditions the winner should have been ineligible to enter the Competition or the entry should have been declared invalid, Global Radio reserves the right to determine that the winner is disqualified.

2.6 Global Radio and the Participating Radio Stations shall not be responsible for any failure on behalf of an Entrant whose telephone call are not received by Global Radio or the Participating Radio Station.  

2.7 An Entrant must participate in the Competition himself or herself.  In the event that a party other than the Entrant attempts to enter the Competition on behalf of that Entrant (whether disclosed or not), that entry will be forfeited and no Prize will be delivered.

2.8 Please note that candidates in the general election will be ineligible to enter this competition.

3. Prize

3.1 All decisions of the Global Radio and Participating Radio Stations’ representatives will be final and binding on the Entrants and no correspondence will be entered into.

3.2 Delivery of prizes, either by street marketing teams or via post/courier will only be to addresses within the Heart Essex broadcast area (Rajar TSA). Winners with addresses outside of this area will have to arrange collection of prizes and incur any costs.

3.3 £10 will be awarded for each correct answer up to the ninth correct answer. If all ten questions are answered correctly within one minute, a total prize of £1000 will be awarded.
