City Striker Passes Away

Tributes are flooding in for Exeter City striker Adam Stansfield, who has passed away aged 31.

Stansfield was diagnosed with bowel cancer in April, after being taken into hospital a month earlier.

The club confirmed the news of his death saying its thoughts are with his family and friends - a sentiment already echoed by hundreds of City fans.

He played over 150 times for City since joining in 2004.

The Big Bank gates to the club were opened for the following few days to allow fans to pay their respects. There are now calls for the number 9 shirt to be retired in his memory

The match against Dagenham & Redbridge was postponed.
