Coastguard Looking to Reclaim Napoli Costs

A date has been set for those affected by the sinking of cargo ship MSC Napoli to apply for compensation.

The court hearing in June will decide who gets what from a fund that has already been set up.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency spent £3 million on it's salvage operation. Gail Robertson who is reponsible for resources for the MCA has told Heart how much they could get will depend on who is allowed a share, 'we will hope for 100 percent - if there is the money available of course. However there will be thousands of cargo claimants, and if they're successful in their right to go for the fund, there will be less money for all claimants'.
