Devon Teens Offered Alternative Education

Teenagers in Devon are being offered an alternative to traditional Further education, with the Exeter City FC Futsal scholarship which is returning for a second year.

Futsal is the only form of indoor football officially recognised by the worldwide governing body FIFA, and is also supported by UEFA and the FA.

The BTEC programme provides students with an alternative to traditional Further Education which could still lead to further studies at university or employment in the sports and leisure industry.

Students enrolling on the Futsal Scholarship Programme will be trained by Exeter City FC coaches, will receive up to 6 hours training per week from UEFA level coaches, and will be able to watch Exeter City FC stars in training and first team matches.

31 students are currently enrolled on the course, which combines education at the state of the art Grecian Centre with practical Futsal training from Exeter City's fully qualified coaches.
