Devon's £60Million Easter Boost

Sunny enough to bring out the crowds but not enough to keep them lying on the beach.

Devon looks set to benefit from a £60 million toruism boost as holiday makers decide to stay at home and go on short breaks of between 3-5 days.

Some attractions like Dartmoor Zoo reported a 50% increase, Pennywell Farm 40% and Plymouth's National Marine Aquarium are up 10% with more than 20 thousand people expected through their doors.

The self-catering accomodation sector also did well with Blue Chip Holidays reporting a sell-out and needing more properties on its books.

For many a good Easter represents a good summer, the weather is a bonus but isn't necessarily the main driver - Too hot and people will stay on the beach too wet and people won't turn up.

All eyes will now be on the 6 weeks when the children break up from school.
