It's the first time we're going to have to pay for rodents to be removed, but there are fears the population will now grow because of the charge.

Call-outs have already fallen from around 160 to 100 a month.

Councillor Kevin Mitchell says, "We'll have to keep an eye on the situation and monitor if there is a massive increase and obviously take action where it is appropriate".
