One of Cambridgeshire's oddest traditions gets under way this morning...
Training With Devon Fire Fighters.
News Mistress Michaela was invited to join Devon and Somerset fire and Rescue service as they trained at their middle moor station. as a service they now attend more road traffic collisions than they do actual fires.
They wanted me to be a real life casualty as they practised cutting me free from a car. The crew I was training with were based at Exeter's Middlemoor station.
The crews train every few weeks to make sure they are ready for any situation that occurs, they're also experts in keeping you calm while they literally rip the car to pieces to get you out safely without causing you any more injuries.
I've never been involved in a serious collision but if the worse were to happen I know I'd be in VERY safe hands.
