Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK's radio regulator.
This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community. Radio stations in the UK are regulated by law. The regulator is Ofcom, which awards licences and regulates content in accordance with the Broadcast Code.
Heart works to operate within all of the conditions of its licence and the Code and welcomes comments about its output from listeners and advertisers.

1. News Bulletin Schedule including which bulletins provide local news and which provide only UK-wide bulletins.
Heart (South West) broadcasts news bulletins on the half-hour between 0600 and 0900 and hourly from 0900 and 1900 on weekdays. During local programming for Cornwall (weekdays 16:00-19:00) there are additional news bulletins at 16:30, 17:30 and 18:30. All bulletins contain a full mix of local, national and world stories, along with appropriate weather, sport and entertainment stories. At the weekend, news bulletins containing local, national and world news are broadcast between 0800 and 1200

Heart’s weekday daytime output (0600-1000) and (1600-1900) and peak time weekend (0800-1200 Saturday and Sunday) output is produced and presented from our studios in Exeter with the exception of Toby Anstis, Nick Snaith, Simon Dale and Matt Wilkinson which is produced at various studios, owned and operated by Heart’s parent company Global Radio.
Off peak programming (Matt Wilkinson, Simon Beale, Emma Bunton, Jason Donovan, Margherita Taylor, Steve Denyer, Nicola Bonn, Chris Skinner, Big Top 40) is produced at various studios, owned and operated by Heart's parent company Global Radio.
Club Classics on a Friday and Saturday night is partly pre recorded and automated programming broadcast from our studios in London.

We support local charities every year and now operate our own registered charity, Have a Heart. We also support various local charities by promoting charitable fairs, open days and fetes through our Angel street teams.
