A14 Driver Claims He Was Struck With Cricket Bat
A man claimed he was hit by a cricket bat after an alleged "road rage" incident in Northamptonshire.
The man was driving a white Mercedes ML on the A14 between Rothwell and Kettering on Friday lunchtime, Northamptonshire Police said, when the driver of a grey BMW 320D driving closely behind him gestured to the man to pull over.
The driver of the Mercs said the BMW pulled in front of him near Rothwell Lodge cottages causing him to drive onto a grass verge.
Police said the two men got out of their cars, then the driver of the BMW got a cricket bat out of his boot and allegedly hit the other driver on the back of the legs as he was walking away.
The BMW driver is described as white, about 30 years-old, 6ft 5in, with a stocky, athletic build. He had short, dark brown hair and a beard, and was wearing a T-shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
