Arrest In Historic Northampton Pet Shop Murder

A 39 year old man has been arrested in connection with the 22 year old murder of a Northampton pet shop worker.

The suspect, who is formerly from Northampton but now living in West Yorkshire, is being held in connection with the murder of 76-year-old Arthur Brumhill at the Denton's Pet and Garden Store in Wellingborough Road, Northampton, on January 22, 1993.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hamilton, of the EMSOU Major Crime Team, said: "The suspect is being transported down from West Yorkshire and will be questioned by detectives at the Criminal Justice Centre in Northampton later today.

"We are unable to say anything further at this stage."
