Armed Robbery In Luton

28 April 2011, 10:56

Two masked men, armed with a knife, grabbed cash from the till in a shop in Luton.

They went into the store in Runfold Avenue at half past eight on Tuesday evening while the owner and his wife were in the back of the store.

The couple were threatened with a knife when they went to see what was happening.

After failing to snatch the till itself the robbers grabbed cash from inside and took a laptop.

Both fled in the direction of Grosvenor Road - possibly left in a dark coloured vehicle.

The men are described as wearing dark clothing and they had their faces covered.

PC Lavern Charles said: "The store owner and his wife had been in the back of the store at the time and came out to see what was happening at which point one of the offenders raised a knife towards them. Thankfully nobody was hurt but we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the men leaving the area, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area prior to the offence."
